Mama Mia ! ... Edelweiss ... Free Slavko Avsenik CD from Fred Ziwich

Mama Mia!   A funny, entertaining musical with the music of Abba.  Went to the opening night 7 pm showing in Oshkosh on July 18 and the theater was full.  Also attended Monday eve at the Point theater in Madison after playing tennis.  It is rare to find a movie worth attending a theater for.  mammamiamovie.com  this site is not recommended if you have dial up.  Beautiful scenery on a Greek Island.

Attended German Fest Friday night.  Enjoyed Alpen Echoes from Minnesota and Johnny Hoffmann & Die Herzbuben from Milwaukee.  The bands from Germany that I saw were more rock oriented.  The fest is changing.  Not all polkas and Volksmusik anymore.  Many attending with walkers or wheelchairs.  Bought 2 Edelweiss plants at the Fest and planted them next to my raspberries and flowering oaks.  The Edelweiss are mountain flowers and need partial shade and good drainage.

Have picked 2 Yellow Boy tomatoes, lots of lettuce and green beans, peas, a little spinach, radishes and a few small carrots from my garden.  Flowers include many tall snap dragons, 2 geraniums, 2 flowering oaks,  2 double impatients and now the 2 Edelweiss.

247polkaheaven.com has IJs  (Internet Jockey as opposed to Disc Jockey) playing a variety of polka music including Slovenian, Volksmusik and Polish.  Fred Ziwich asked a few questions a few weeks back and if we answered them via email we received a CD.  This is a very nice CD of Slavko Avsenik songs with English lyrics and the music done Cleveland style.  Thank you, Fred!  And thanks for the good music on 24 7 Polka Heaven!

Only 4 weeks until fall semester starts.  With 4 classes in the Photography program  and the Master Gardener class every other week, it's going to be very busy.  We will be starting with black and white prints.  The weather has been so nice and warm.  Have went an entire week with not having to wear a sweater or jacket.

So good to hear from you Connie and I can see that you are as busy as ever. We have a movie complex going up here in town as we haven't had even one screen. This will have 8 screens, so maybe we will be able to find something we like. TV with HD and big screen kinda spoils one to stay home and watch movies. I love fresh garden veggies!! Enjoy the rest of your summer Connie.

The Mama Mia movie sounds like a great movie... can't wait to see it. I hope the Edelweiss plant does well for you. I never heard of that plant before. I'll have to check for one at the Winter Greenhouse next time I'm over there.

Hi Connie! I haven't been able to visit in a while and I am sorry about that. I always enjoy reading about your many interests and zest for life.

I wanted to extend to you a special invite to join a caring group that reaches out to others while having fun. There are actually several groups within the main group, including learning how to make your own graphics, or stationery. There is even a monthly newsletter if you would like to write an article for it. Check us out Connie. You would be a wonderful addition!!!!!
